Analyze human behavior in virtual reality applications to draw conclusions about user actions and objectives. How can we take advantage of our users data to get insight on features and product design that would give our users a more enjoyable experience? For example, if we were to notice that engineers in the pharmaceutical industry use our product in a certain manner, rearranging menus and tool pallets to suit their needs, why don’t we setup the nth engineer at a pharmaceutical company with the same layout as the others? The beauty in this being that there was no programing needed on our end, and customer satisfaction is increased. Models are also adjusted over time through transfer learning, just as the space changes over time. There are many aspects of our product that can be improved by these insights, and with modern data analytics I aim to deliver new builds that take advantage of the techniques used in the artificial intelligence space.
Goals: Write software that implements machine learning techniques that would better predict human actions and reasoning in the pharmaceutical and materials science space.
Description: Assembled a web server with a separate Postgre SQL server on the backend. I designed the system with security and speed in mind: all files are stored on SSD's and the SQL server is on my subnet. For my load balancer / reverse proxy I use a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian of course. For the SQL server I used an old computer we had at the office and installed an SSD with CentOS 7.
Goals: Expand my knowledge on server design, security, networking, and Linux platforms and distributions. I will then transition this setup to the cloud to familiarize myself with useful cloud services such as automated backups and multi-region deployments.
